Experience
A Russian Feature film Produced by Arsenal Studios of Saint Petersburg hired Digital Imaging Technicians Dan Carling and Nye Jones for this shoot. Both Technicians had a vast knowledge base using the RED One camera and a deep understanding of the camera to post workflow which was essential for the production.

Filming took place for 14 weeks in Thailand followed by a 8 week shoot in St Petersburg. Ice packs and other cooling aids were required to keep the cameras cool in the Jungles of Thailand followed by insulated bags for warmth in the Russian winter.

Images and camera exposures were monitored closely onset at all time by a mobile monitor workstation cabled up to the A and B cameras at all times. RED announced the new 16GB CF card and the new Shock mount for the RED Drives which were purchased by production for the shoot.

Data management was handled on a mobile workstation always either onset or in the truck depending on location access.

MD5 Checksums performed on each camera backup to a master RAID followed by shuttle drive and LTO tape for archival.

Editorial files were generated by the production companies own technician.

A truly unforgettable shoot in which at one point Dan Carling became Michael Madsens double for a big master wide shot on a remote beach in Thailand.
