Principle photography took place in Origo Studios, Budapest on this Legendary Films production. The shoot had several weeks of location filming in hard to reach locations within Jordan.
For this part of the shoot a new DIT workstation was designed with large low pressure beach wheels to allow Dan Carling to manoeuvre this workstation with ease on the tricky sandy terrain. The Dune Buggy was pulled into position between camera setups and ran a 12 volt battery powered Livegrade and exposure control workstation. Sand removal at the end of the days filming was essential to remove the build up from the dust storms.
A Codex Vault S was used throughout the shoot to perform onset backups of the ArriRaw data. Whilst in Jordan this remained on the DIT truck, safe out of the sand. HDE encoding was performed on this shoot which substantially reduces data storage required once a Codex Capture Drive has been copied.
Back in Budapest fibre optic cable was required to cable between main and second unit to ensure the Director could see at all times what was being shot on the other unit.
