Experience
Gambit was one of the first UK feature films to record ArriRaw data from the Arri Alexa. The codex onboard recorder was mounted on top of the Arri Alexa and feed the uncompressed ArriRaw signal for capture.

Cinematographer Florian Ballhaus wanted to implement live grading to the onset workflow for this production. With this brief, digital Imaging Technician Dan Carling created a custom onset colour and exposure workstation utilising the Truelight onset rackmount grading control capable of livegrading the 2 cameras being used.

By applying a CDL (Colour Decision List) grade to the live LogC video signal the images from camera were colour graded as per Florians request allowing everybody on set to see exactly the true colours and how the rushes would be viewed.

Data management was carried out by Sixteen19 on a near set digital lab.

A very enjoyable shoot that looked great.
